Amanda Owen, the dedicated shepherdess and mother of nine, has shared the difficulties that come with a bustling life in the picturesque Yorkshire Dales. She described this year’s Mother’s Day as “chaotic and disorderly” while posting a photo of her three daughters surprising her with breakfast in bed.

Owen, is often perceived as living an idyllic life at the remote Ravenseat Farm, showcased in her family’s television series, ‘Our Farm Next Door’. However, Amanda has shared insights that suggest the reality of her life as the matriarch of a bustling family is more complex than it appears on screen. She typed: “A perfect Mothers Day for an imperfect mother”. It did not take long for her 533,000 followers to leap to her defence as they praised the star, 50, who separated from husband Clive Owen, 70, in 2022.

One fan commented: “There is no such thing as being a perfect mum but I’d say your pretty close Amanda and have been an inspiration to so many. Happy Mother’s Day.”

Another added: “Less of the imperfect mother……..so many kids would benefit from being raised by you in those surroundings. Happy Mother’s Day Amanda, I just know your kids spoilt you in their own unique ways.”

While a third remarked: “Are you joking? The patience you have and the way u speak to them is beautiful…why they have all turned out as they have…because they have wonderful parents x.”

As of late, Amanda has abeen busy renovating a rundown cottage near their farm that she purchased with husband Clive before their shock split.

The couple, who were married for 22 years, applied to renovate the Grade II listed building way back in 2020.

Despite their break-up, the former couple continue to work together—raising their brood and bringing the farmhouse, known as Anty Johns to locals, to life. Their efforts are currently the subject of Our Farm Next Door: Amanda, Clive and Kids.

Work on the property has been slow and steady in the five years since the project was taken on. Fans however have been kept in the loop, both with Our Farm Next Door and Amanda’s flourishing Instagram pages.
